-
Free phone support with real humans available for most business hours.
If you prefer talking to a person over live chat or tickets, the availability of a US phone line is a genuine differentiator.
-
One NetSol account covers everything.
Domains, hosting, email, website builder, and security all live under a single login and billing relationship, which reduces administrative overhead for small business owners who do not want to manage multiple vendor relationships.
-
World's first domain registrar with 45+ years of operational history.
Network Solutions Cons
Where Network Solutions Misses the Mark
-
Domain renewal prices are punishing.
A .com that costs $9.99 to register renews at $29 to $35 per year, far above what most competing registrars charge for the same domain, which becomes a real cost issue for anyone managing multiple domains.
-
No free SSL on the entry Starter plan.
-
No server location selection at checkout.
If your audience is outside the US, you have no control over where your site is hosted, which affects both performance and data sovereignty for some users.
-
No cPanel access.
Network Solutions' custom control panel is functional but lacks the depth, familiarity, and ecosystem of tools that cPanel provides, which is a real downside for developers and experienced users.

Network Solutions Review: World's First Domain Registrar, but Is It Still Worth It?
»Network Solutions Review Overview

There is something almost nostalgic about working with Network Solutions, aka NetSol. The company has been part of the internet’s fabric since before most of today’s web developers were born. Founded in 1979, it became the world’s first domain registrar, a fact the company understandably repeats quite often.
For long-time users and small business owners who have spent years with the NetSol brand, that history carries a certain weight. But history alone does not pay your hosting bills or keep your site online, and that is exactly why we put the platform through serious, real-world testing at HostDean.
The biggest recent development worth noting upfront: in June 2025, parent company Newfold Digital officially retired the Web.com brand and migrated all Web.com accounts into Network Solutions. This was not a minor footnote. It means Network Solutions has grown considerably in scale, now serving millions of customers across domains, web hosting, and email.
The combined entity is led by Christina Clohecy as CEO of the Network Solutions Group, which also includes Register.com, Domain.com, MarkMonitor, and Crazy Domains. On paper, this consolidation sounds like a step forward. In practice, the transition has added complexity and, for some former Web.com users, confusion.
When you first land on the Network Solutions website, the experience is reasonably clean. The homepage is organized around its core products: domains, hosting, website builder, and security. Shopping for a plan is fairly straightforward, and the company does show renewal prices upfront, which is more transparency than many hosts bother to offer.
The checkout process does have some friction, though. An SSL certificate was added automatically to our cart without explicit opt-in, and the domain name generator tool lives on a separate page rather than being integrated into the signup flow. Small frustrations, but they add up.
The hosting lineup consists of four cloud-based shared hosting tiers: Starter, Essential, Premium, and Premium Plus, as shown below in the NetSol pricing section. Prices start at around $2.99 per month on introductory rates, which sounds competitive, but the entry plan comes with only 10GB of disk space, a single website, and no free SSL. The Essential plan at roughly $4.99 per month is where you start getting meaningful value, with free domain registration and SSL on annual plans.
The Premium plans jump significantly in price and add SiteLock security, unlimited disk space, and more websites. What is missing across the board is cPanel, a standard in the hosting industry. Network Solutions uses its own custom web hosting dashboard, which works but feels dated compared to what competitors like Hostinger or InMotion Hosting offer.
On the performance side, I tested the platform using GTmetrix and WebPageTest over several weeks. The numbers were honestly mixed. A test on the Essential plan produced a GTmetrix grade of roughly 94% with a fully loaded time around 1.5 to 2 seconds under light traffic. TTFB hovered between 600ms and 900ms in most tests from US-based nodes, which is noticeably slower than performance-focused web hosts like Kinsta and Cloudways that routinely hit sub-200ms. Under any meaningful traffic load, response times degraded a bit. The infrastructure is cloud-based and redundant, which helps with stability, but raw speed is not where Network Solutions shines.
Reliability is a genuinely stronger suit. The company offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee and, in our monitoring, it mostly delivered on that. We did not experience major outages during testing, and the cloud-based architecture provides automatic failover if one server node has an issue. That said, the service agreement contains exclusions for “Internet frailties,” scheduled maintenance, and causes outside their control, which are standard clauses but worth reading carefully. For a small business website that does not see critical traffic spikes, the uptime is adequate. The concern is more with speed than with availability.
The pricing story is where things get genuinely complicated. Network Solutions has some of the lowest introductory rates around, but the renewal prices are painful. A .com domain that starts at $9.99 for the first year renews at around $29 to $35 per year. Hosting plans that seemed affordable at first, when using a Network Solutions promo code, jump significantly at renewal, with the Premium plan for one year running over $200 at standard renewal pricing. SSL certificates, if not included in your plan, start at over $82 per year, which is expensive when competitors include SSL by default. The freebies (free domain and email boxes) are nice, but they do not fully offset the renewal sticker shock.
The support situation is where most user frustration tends to live, and our experience reflects that. Phone support is available, and the company markets “24/7 real person support” heavily. At HostDean, we tested the live chat and phone channels multiple times. Phone reached a human within a reasonable wait, but the quality of answers was inconsistent. One agent gave contradictory information on billing.
Network Solutions chat support was slower, with several-minute gaps between responses, and some questions went entirely unanswered. The tier-one agents have limited access to backend systems, which means anything beyond a simple question often requires escalation with no guaranteed timeline. Long-standing NetSol users here on HostDean and multiple review platforms repeatedly describe support promising “24-48 hours” resolution that stretches into weeks.
Putting it all together: Network Solutions makes the most sense for users who are already deeply invested in the platform, perhaps managing many domains there for years, or for small business owners who want a single vendor to handle everything from domain to website to email without a technical learning curve. If you are starting fresh and prioritizing performance, pricing value, or support quality, there are more competitive choices available today. The legacy and scale of the brand are real. So are the limitations.
Network Solutions Performance
Our expert's take on Network Solutions performance.
Performance is probably the area where Network Solutions most clearly shows its age. The company has made genuine infrastructure updates, migrating fully to cloud hosting that stores website files across multiple servers. This means better redundancy and less vulnerability to single-node failures. But redundancy and speed are separate things, and the speed side of the equation is underwhelming.
When I ran tests on the Essential hosting plan using GTmetrix and WebPageTest from a Virginia test node, the TTFB results ranged from around 600ms on a light, uncached request to well over 900ms under any kind of realistic load. To put that in context, a well-optimized shared hosting environment today from providers like hosting.com or GreenGeeks regularly delivers TTFB under 200ms. Network Solutions sits in an entirely different tier.
The fully loaded page time in our tests averaged between 1.5 and 2.2 seconds for a simple WordPress installation with a standard theme, minimal plugins, and no resource-heavy images. A GTmetrix A grade of around 94% sounds impressive until you notice that competitors achieve similar or better grades with load times nearly twice as fast. GTmetrix grading rewards code structure and asset optimization, not raw server responsiveness, so a good grade does not tell the whole story.
One factor that explains some of the sluggishness is the server stack itself. Network Solutions does not prominently disclose what web server software they run on their shared hosting. The absence of LiteSpeed (which has become something of an industry standard for fast shared hosting) and the lack of built-in server-level caching mean you are relying on application-level caching plugins in WordPress, which are less efficient.
For a simple informational site or a low-traffic blog, you will probably not notice the difference day to day. But for any site expecting regular visitors or running a WooCommerce store, the limitations show up.
Traffic handling is another weak point. During a basic load test that simulated 40 to 50 concurrent visitors, response times degraded noticeably. The servers did not throw errors, but the spike in TTFB was sharp. Premium-tier plans offer more resources, but even there, the underlying architecture does not appear to prioritize performance the way purpose-built hosting products like managed WordPress hosting do. TBH, NetSol clarifies on their website that their hosting plans can handle from 15K to 200K monthly visitors, depending on your plan and site setup.

How much traffic can Network Solutions’ web hosting plans handle
There is also the question of global coverage. Network Solutions does not publicly disclose the location of its data centers in detail. Based on available information to us at HostDean, they operate facilities in the US (Utah and Virginia have historically been mentioned) and utilize infrastructure from the broader Newfold Digital group. There is no option to select a server location at checkout, the last time we checked, which matters if your audience is primarily outside the United States. A visitor in Europe or Asia loading a site hosted on a US server will experience the round-trip latency on top of an already-average base TTFB.
From a developer’s standpoint, you do get access to PHP, MySQL, Python, Perl, Ruby, Joomla, Drupal, and WordPress through the control panel, and 1-click installations are available. HTTP/2 support is present on the platform. These are baseline requirements today, so the presence alone does not stand out.
The honest verdict on Network Solutions’ performance is this: if NetSol were priced at premium rates, these numbers would be almost indefensible. At the entry-level price point, they are more understandable but still behind the curve compared to budget web hosts that now offer LiteSpeed and NVMe storage at similar prices. If speed is a business priority, this is a real concern to weigh.
Network Solutions Reliability
How reliable is Network Solutions? Our insights.
Reliability is genuinely one of Network Solutions’ stronger areas, which makes sense given its 45+ years in business. A company does not manage millions of domains and survive this long without getting the basic infrastructure right. The NetSol platform uses cloud-based hosting with redundant file storage across multiple servers, meaning that if one node experiences an issue, the system is designed to automatically reroute to another. In practice, during our testing period, we did not experience any significant downtime events.
The advertised uptime guarantee is 99.9%, which translates to roughly 8.75 hours of permitted downtime per year. For Linux-based plans, the guarantee holds at 99.9%, and older references to a 99.99% guarantee for Linux have been phased out or clarified in more recent documentation. Worth noting: the service agreement explicitly excludes downtime caused by “Internet frailties,” scheduled maintenance windows, and causes outside the company’s control. These exclusions are standard across the hosting industry, but they do mean the effective guarantee is narrower than the headline figure suggests.

Network Solutions hosting service agreement
What does concern me, based on reviewing a substantial volume of Network Solutions customer feedback, is email server reliability. NetSol offers professional email as a core part of its product stack, as shown in the pricing section below, and multiple users have reported extended email outages, sometimes lasting days or even weeks. One user who had been a customer for nearly 20 years described an email outage in late 2024 that persisted for several weeks without a clear resolution timeline from support. Email downtime is a serious reliability issue for small businesses, and it comes up frequently enough in user feedback to flag it here.
For website hosting specifically, the situation is better. The cloud architecture does provide real stability benefits, and for a straightforward business website or blog, you can reasonably expect your site to stay online. On-demand cloud backup is available as a feature (included in some plans and as an add-on in others), which adds a layer of protection against data loss. Automatic daily malware scanning through SiteLock is included in all plans except the Starter, which adds some security-related reliability.
The absence of daily automated backups on lower-tier plans is worth mentioning. Some competitors like HostPapa and DreamHost offer automatic daily backups as standard on even their cheapest shared plans. On the Starter plan, you are relying on on-demand backups, which means you need to remember to trigger them. That is not ideal for a small business owner who is not particularly technical.
One more reliability-related issue: the 2025 Web.com migration, while officially described as seamless, generated a wave of user feedback across forums and review platforms from former Web.com customers who experienced service interruptions, email configuration issues, and login problems during the transition. Migrations of this scale are inherently risky, and Newfold’s track record with such consolidations is mixed at best. If you are an existing customer who came over from Web.com, it is worth double-checking that all your services are functioning correctly rather than assuming the transition was clean.
For a domain registrar specifically, Network Solutions has a solid track record. Domain registration, renewal, and DNS management have historically been reliable, and the platform supports standard DNS record types, registrar lock, and two-step account verification. These are the basics you would expect from a registrar of this scale and history, and Network Solutions delivers them.
Network Solutions Pricing
Are Network Solutions's prices competitive? Here's our verdict.
Let us just say it plainly: Network Solutions is not a cheap hosting provider once you account for the full cost of running a site here beyond year one. The introductory pricing looks attractive. Hosting starts at around $2.99 per month, domains start at $9.99 for the first year, and website builder plans begin at $1.99 per month. These are genuinely competitive first-year rates, and the company deserves credit for being upfront about renewal costs rather than hiding them in fine print.
The catch is that the renewal prices are substantially higher. A .com domain that costs $9.99 to register renews at around $29 to $35 per year, which is roughly two to three times what competing registrars like Namecheap, NameSilo, or Spaceship.com charge for the same renewal. This is not a rounding error; it is a meaningful pricing gap that hits hardest if you manage a portfolio of domains. There have been user reports of .org renewals coming in at over $53 per year, which drew significant frustration in domain investor communities.
On the hosting side, the Starter plan at the lowest tier ($2.99-$5.69 per month, depending on the current Network Solutions promotion) lacks free SSL, which is genuinely unusual today. SSL is table stakes for any website, and the absence of it on the entry plan means you are either upgrading to a higher tier or paying separately. Standalone SSL certificates through Network Solutions start at $82.44 per year, which is expensive compared to the free Let’s Encrypt certificates that most hosts include automatically. You can install Let’s Encrypt manually, but the process is not as straightforward as with hosting providers that automate it.
The Essential plan is where the value proposition starts to make more sense. At roughly $4.99 per month (introductory), you get a free domain, free SSL, and meaningful storage on annual plans. The Essential and Premium plans also include free SiteLock malware scanning and removal, which does represent genuine value since SiteLock is a paid third-party service.
The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to hosting plans, which is standard. There are no reported issues with the company honoring it, though some users have described difficulties canceling auto-renewals, with charges continuing after cancellation requests. The automatic renewal setup across all services (hosting, domains, SSL, and domain privacy) is aggressive, and you need to actively manage your renewal settings to avoid unexpected charges.
At HostDean, when we compare network solutions against competitors in the same market segment, the value gap becomes clear. Providers like Hostinger or FastComet offer comparable or better resources, free SSL on all plans, LiteSpeed servers, and significantly cheaper domain renewals. For users who need the specific combination of Network Solutions features (legacy domain portfolio, US phone support, Google Workspace integration), there is a market fit. For everyone else, there are more cost-effective options.
Add-ons pile up quickly here. Domain privacy protection costs $1.99 per month or $11.99 for the first year. Domain expiration protection is $9.99 per domain. SiteLock Premium on higher plans adds value but also increases the plan cost. Google Workspace email integration is an extra cost. If you enter the checkout process without a clear plan, it is easy to end up with a cart that looks very different from the advertised starting price.
Network Solutions Support
Can you count on Network Solutions's support? Our opinion.
Customer support is where the gap between Network Solutions’ marketing and the lived customer experience is widest. The company markets “24/7 real person support” prominently, and that is technically accurate. You can reach a human via phone, live chat, or email during most hours. The phone line connects reasonably quickly. On a standard weekday test, I was connected to a live agent within a few minutes. That part works.
The problem is what happens once you are connected. In testing live chat, I submitted three separate questions to the same Network Solutions support agent: one about billing, one about a technical hosting configuration, and one about a refund policy. The billing question received a clear answer. The technical question was met with a scripted response that did not address the specific scenario. The refund question received two different answers across two separate chat sessions, with one agent contradicting the other on the same policy. That kind of inconsistency erodes trust quickly.
For anything beyond a basic “how do I” question, the tier-one support staff appear to lack the system access needed to actually fix problems. Multiple long-term users have described the experience of being told their issue will be resolved “within 24-48 hours,” only to follow up two weeks later and find the issue untouched. There is no direct escalation path from a standard chat session to a technical administrator, which means complex problems effectively disappear into a queue with no visibility or accountability.
NetSol’s email-based support follows a similar pattern. Response times are unpredictable, and the quality of the first response often requires multiple follow-ups. The company does not offer a traditional ticketing system with public-facing ticket status, making it difficult to track where your issue stands.
Phone support is the most reliable channel, particularly for sales and new account questions. The “Business Consultants” line (available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 11 pm Eastern) connects you with agents who are well-equipped to help you choose and configure a plan. For billing disputes and straightforward changes, phone support gets results more consistently than chat.
The self-service knowledge base exists and covers the major topics: domain management, DNS settings, email configuration, hosting setup, and security. For technically capable users, it handles common scenarios adequately. But the documentation has some noticeable gaps, and given that the platform recently absorbed Web.com’s entire customer base, some articles reference outdated configurations or products that no longer exist (legacy VPS, dedicated server plans, and Windows hosting are still referenced in blog content even though those products are no longer offered).
Video tutorials are available for basic tasks, and MyTime Support (a scheduled callback service originating from the Web.com brand) provides a way to book support sessions rather than waiting in the queue. That is a useful option for users who prefer to plan around a call rather than wait.
Comparing support to industry leaders is sobering. Providers like Pressable and Liquid Web have raised the bar considerably for what technical support should look like, with agents who have actual server-level access and can make configuration changes in real time. Network Solutions sits considerably below that bar.
Network Solutions Features
Are Network Solutions's features impressive? Our hands-on review.
The features picture at Network Solutions is a study in contrasts. The breadth of what they offer under one account is genuinely impressive for a small business. You can register a domain, set up cloud hosting, configure professional email (including Google Workspace), build a website with an AI-powered builder, add SSL, and access online marketing tools, all from one dashboard and one billing relationship. For a non-technical business owner who values simplicity over customization, that centralization has real practical value.
The AI website builder is worth highlighting specifically. This is one of the stronger additions brought through the Web.com integration, having won external recognition for its design quality. The builder creates a functional website in under six minutes based on prompts about your business, and the drag-and-drop editor allows meaningful customization without touching any code. For comparison, I found the AI suggestions more practical and less generic than similar tools from comparable budget-to-mid-tier hosts. E-commerce functionality supports between 25 and 100,000 products, depending on the plan tier, which covers a wide range of business sizes.
NetSol’s hosting control panel is custom-built by Network Solutions. It is clean and organized enough that new users can navigate it, but it lacks the depth and familiarity of cPanel or Plesk. If you are accustomed to cPanel, you will feel the difference immediately.

Network Solutions hosting dashboard
There is no Softaculous-style 1-click installer array, though WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and a handful of other platforms can be installed with relative ease. CMS integrations for WordPress include access to thousands of themes and plugins, and the WordPress hosting plans include on-demand cloud backup and email boxes.
One notable absence is a free CDN. Most competing hosts at this price point now include Cloudflare CDN integration or their own CDN layer by default, WPX Hosting, for example. Network Solutions does not. For a site with international visitors, this is a meaningful gap both for performance and for reliability under traffic spikes.
Free SSL is included on Essential and Premium plans on annual terms, which is fine, but the absence on the Starter plan stands out. The SiteLock security integration covers malware scanning and removal on plans above Starter, with SiteLock Premium offering daily scans for up to 500 pages, vulnerability scanning, and the SiteLock Trust Seal on your site. This is a legitimate security feature that many hosts charge extra for.
The developer toolkit is respectable: PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl, MySQL, Rails, and FTP access are all available. HTTP/2 is supported. WordPress hosting plans are cloud-based with the same 99.9% uptime guarantee as standard shared plans. The Google Workspace integration is clean and well-executed for businesses that prefer Gmail-powered email over standard IMAP mailboxes.
Server location selection is not offered at checkout, and the exact data center locations are not publicly disclosed. This is a significant limitation for businesses with a primarily international audience. Some competing hosts, like UltaHost and InterServer, and even sister companies like Bluehost and HostGator, let you choose from 5 to 10+ data center locations spanning multiple continents; Network Solutions essentially points you wherever Newfold Digital’s infrastructure lands your account.
Free website migration is not a standard offering. Some users have reported receiving migration assistance after contacting support directly, but there is no self-service migration tool or guaranteed free migration for new customers.
The platform does support email hosting independently of web hosting, which is useful for users who want to host their site elsewhere but keep their domain and email within Network Solutions. Given how many users have been with the company for 10 to 20 years, primarily for domain management and email, this separation is a practical feature.

Real-world experiences with Network Solutions. From real customers.
Your reviews are important and protected.
Companies on HostDean can't pay or offer incentives to hide them.
Worse Host Ever
I loved iPage. When Bluehost bought them or merged with them, they were still okay. I renewed my subscription last year (2025) anyway (3 years) and now Network Solutions bought, I can't stand them but I'm stuck with them. When my subscription is up for renewal I a moving to another hosting aency. I might move early but hate loosing all that money I paid last year.
Scam Activity Suspected
I paid a 2-year fee for our Domain/ website and had the receipt. Network Solutions claimed the receipt was false and demanded another annual fee I paid a day late. Since I was late, they closed our website and then demanded another fee to reactivate our website, total fees of over $70. Now Network Solutions demands another $120 fee for "website protection." I did not request this and doubt it is a valid service. They are threatening to destroy all our website information if I do not pay for protection. This demand may be a scam, but I have been unable to get any answers from Network Solutions.
Terrible customer service and policies.
Terrible customer service and policies. Do not recommend them. Two charges for my account, one for domain and one for email service. A year ago they were able to charge our credit card for email services but for some reason not domain services. Result, lost our domain, found out when our email accounts no longer worked. Called and said no point in continuing email services without associate domain. One year later they charged us for email services. Didn’t find out until bill came, because email addresses no longer valid. Called and requested refund for services that I can’t use and should have been canceled. Supervisor: “It’s been 30 days since the charge was made. We can not refund anything after 30 days.” Stuck on the policy and not the situation. Hundreds of dollars, gone.
Really unique support experience
Gerwin helped me through a really stressful return situation and made everything calm again. I was super impressed with how clearly he understood my problem and how fast he fixed it. This is honestly how all customer service should be.
Awesome service from Marcus
Marcus helped me update my website.
He was super quick and knew exactly what he was doing. He even called me to talk through the changes, which was really nice.
Overall, a great experience working with him.
They did a great job copying my site
It was pretty simple, I just wanted them to copy my old website from another company because I didn't want to deal with them anymore after they tried to take control of my site.
They did a perfect job replicating it. A few phone calls and it was done super fast, way quicker than they said it would be.
I've been with Network Solutions since 1995 and they've always fixed any problem right away.
I've been in computers since 1978 so I know a good company when I see one.

Abhishek gave me top notch service!
I got to work with Abhishek to transfer my domain into my Network Solutions account and the whole process was so smooth and fast I was honestly shocked at how on the ball he was the entire time. I really get the feeling Abhishek is going to go far in life and I wish I could see it happen. They need to clone this guy a thousand times.
Good reputation and great support
They have a solid reputation and their support is first-rate. They really have everything you need for your online application.
They answer fast and accurately
They respond to customer questions really quickly and their answers are always accurate.
Happy with the quick website changes
I really liked that the changes I asked for on my website were done quickly and correctly. The process was simple and straightforward.
Phishing scam from fake email address
Is Network Solutions and all its customers aware of this phishing scam coming from @networksolutionsemail.com? I was with Register.com forever until they got sold to Network Solutions. Since the move, I started getting these phishing emails from support @ networksolutionsemail.com - it looks real, has the logo and everything but it's fake. Everyone should be careful and hopefully a big company like Network Solutions can do something about this.
Very efficient company with great service
What made my experience so good was how easy it was to get help from an actual Network Solutions agent. They were easy to reach, super efficient, and they fixed my issues in a really professional way. I'd definitely recommend this company to others.
Quick fix for my question
They were really fast and sorted out my question quickly without any hassle.

The customer service guy was amazing. He fixed a problem that the salesperson didn't even see coming. I really hope they give this person a good raise because he deserves it.
Consultant gave good logical answers
The consultant gave me really good logical answers to all my questions, even when my questions weren't worded very well.
Quick chatbot help
That chatbot was quick! This might have been the fastest and most complete help I've ever gotten from a site chat. Thanks for not wasting my time.
Fast, top quality service!
Fast, first class service! Every time I asked for help, they helped me right away and thoroughly. Thanks! The operators are polite and know their stuff!
Help with payment refund
The team was really helpful in getting my mistaken payment refunded without any issues.
My website was down but now it's back!
My website had been down for a month or two, I tried chat before but it didn't work. Then tonight I made a whole new website because my old one was basically gone and I couldn't link my old domain. I got on chat and was connected to Arpitha, and just like that my website was working again. Everything got fixed smoothly and I'm really happy with Network Solutions support, especially since I don't know anything about domains.
They took time to answer all my questions
Network Solutions actually spent the time and showed they cared about giving me proper answers to my questions as we look for a new setup for our companies. They put in the effort to answer everything completely.
Great hosting and support!
Great hosting and support! I've been doing business with Network Solutions for over 15 years now, and I'm back again for more business with them.
Professional email setup was frustrating
The person who was supposed to help me set up my professional email on Nov 11, 2025, took so many hours and wasted my time. After all that, my email still wasn't working. Then he tried to push me to connect with an email specialist for $72, which I refused. Later that day, another assistant helped me but I still hate that it takes so long to add a professional email to another mailbox like Yahoo or Google. Simplicity is key, and Network Solutions isn't very good at finding simple solutions, I'm afraid.
Helpful and courteous live rep
The live rep was really helpful and polite. She fixed my issue and definitely deserves a 5 star review!
Great domain company
Great domain management company, awesome customer support service, and good prices too.
Fantastic help from Tiffany
Fantastic support from Tiffany for my domain question. She helped me over chat really quickly - it's rare to get such a good agent and service via chat these days so Tiffany and Network Solutions are really standing out here.
They fixed my problem quickly
I was able to get my problem sorted out in no time. The chat help desk was really helpful, knew their stuff, and were polite. They also gave me some good recommendations that actually helped.
Network Solutions great service again
Network Solutions gave me superior service yet again! We've used them (web.com) for many years now. I highly recommend them. Special shout out to my IT guy - Marvin!! Thank you!
I was about to give up!
I had reached the point where I just didn't want to call Professional Services or customer service anymore because it always took forever. But not anymore. I called NS Pro Services and even their AI Bot was efficient. I had so many questions as a newcomer to all this. J was patient and knew his stuff. I ended the call feeling great that everything was corrected and published. J stayed on the line with me to fix the issues I couldn't handle and helped me with the ones I could. This isn't my first time getting excellent help, but it had been a while since I only work weekends to update my site and Pro Services isn't open then. I recommend this new Network Solutions now that all their companies are together.

AMBER!!! All the wonderful people working on my website are amazing...!!!
I just got off the phone with John Lloyd A and he was terrific. He made great suggestions and changes so fast and everything was excellent.
My website is A +++ and THE TEAM at Network Solutions is A +++. THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!
I fell for a scam email
I got an email saying I needed to confirm my domain name or my email would be suspended. I had trouble doing it and I made the mistake of clicking a link in the email. When I contacted Network Solutions they told me it was a scam and I had fallen for it. They told me to secure my account with new passwords and two-factor authentication. The representative helped me in just a short time and fixed my problem. I was really happy with my contact with Network Solutions.
Great customer service reps
The Customer Service Reps I talked with over the past 3 days to update my domain primary contact and fix a glitch with Domain Forwarding were exceptional. Both representatives were helpful, knew their stuff, and were very patient when helping me.
I got the best help I needed
Last week I called your support center and got connected with Kimberly R. She let me explain my problem, which seemed complicated to me. She helped me like nobody has before. Her voice was easy to hear; there was NO background talking or noise. I could hear her perfectly even though I'm in my early 80s, unlike so many call centers that have lots of background noise. Kimberly walked me through my problems and made it VERY clear that everything would be taken care of. She was kind enough to follow up by email to tell me what was happening and even gave me time frames for when it should be fixed. Everything turned out perfect and I couldn't be happier with her service. If I had to rate Kimberly from 1 to 100, she easily gets 100. Good service is so important these days but hard to find. Kimberly is in a class of her own and deserves praise for her skills. I hope if I ever need help again, I get her or someone as great as she is. She's truly one of a kind.
Chris helped rebuild my website
Chris was professional, and the team delivered exactly what I was looking for with only minimal changes needed afterwards!
Highest praise for Dominique's help!
I'm so thankful to Dominique for his courtesy call, which happily and unexpectedly gave me the chance to thoroughly review our Website and make some needed adjustments.
His cheerful attitude made his expertise and patience (during our long call!) even better - he helped me completely understand various complex issues, so now I'll have a much better handle on the work ahead. His customer support couldn't have been better!

Network Solutions FAQs
Your Network Solutions Questions, Answered by HostDean Experts
Is Network Solutions a good choice for beginners?
It depends on what you mean by beginner. For a first-time small business owner who wants one provider to handle everything without getting into technical details, Network Solutions simplifies the process. The AI website builder is particularly friendly for non-technical users, and having domains, web hosting, and email under one account reduces the number of moving parts to manage.
The trade-off is that you pay a premium for that simplicity, particularly at renewal, and the control panel, while usable, is less intuitive than some competing platforms that have invested more in UX design. For a complete beginner on a tight budget, alternatives like Hostinger or Bluehost offer a more polished onboarding experience at comparable or lower costs.
Who owns Network Solutions?
Network Solutions is owned by Newfold Digital, a web hosting, domain registration, and digital services company that was formed in 2021 through the merger of Web.com Group and Endurance International Group (EIG). Network Solutions operates as one of Newfold Digital's brands, alongside well-known web services companies such as Bluehost, HostGator, BigRock.in, Domain.com, and Yoast.
The ownership of Network Solutions has changed several times over the years. After serving as one of the earliest and most prominent domain registrars, the company was acquired by VeriSign in 2000. It was later sold to private investors and then acquired by Web.com in 2011. When Web.com merged with Endurance International Group to create Newfold Digital in 2021, Network Solutions became part of the new company's portfolio.
Today, Newfold Digital is backed by the private equity firms Clearlake Capital and Siris Capital Group. As a result, while Network Solutions continues to operate under its longstanding brand name, it is ultimately owned through Newfold Digital and its private-equity investors.
What happened with the Web.com and Network Solutions merger?
In April 2025, Newfold Digital announced it would retire the Web.com brand and migrate all Web.com accounts into Network Solutions. The official consolidation went live in June 2025. Former Web.com customers were told they could use the same login credentials, that pricing would remain the same, and that no downtime would occur during the transition.
In most cases, the technical migration worked as described, since both brands had shared backend infrastructure for some time. However, there were reports of email configuration issues, login difficulties, and billing confusion during the transition period.
Network Solutions is now the unified brand for this group, operating alongside Register.com and Domain.com under the Network Solutions Group division of Newfold Digital.
Does Network Solutions include free SSL with its hosting plans?
Partially. Free SSL is included on the Essential and Premium plans when purchased on annual terms. The entry-level Starter plan does not include a free SSL certificate. If you buy hosting and want SSL on the cheapest plan, you would need to either upgrade to the Essential tier or purchase SSL separately.
Standalone SSL certificates through NetSol start at $82.44 per year for a basic option. You can install a free Let's Encrypt certificate manually, but the process requires navigating the control panel and is not automated the way some competing hosts handle it. If free SSL is important to you from day one, choose at a minimum the Essential plan on a one-year term.
How does Network Solutions compare to GoDaddy for domain registration?
Both are among the largest and oldest registrars in the world, and the comparison between GoDaddy and Network Solutions comes up often. For introductory domain pricing, they are generally similar, with both offering .com registrations for under $15 in the first year. Where Network Solutions falls short is in renewal pricing. GoDaddy renewal rates, while also higher than budget registrars like Namecheap, are typically $20 to $24 per year for a .com, compared to Network Solutions' $29 to $35.
On the hosting side, GoDaddy's managed WordPress product delivers notably better performance in independent tests, with TTFB figures around 75ms on managed plans compared to 600ms+ on Network Solutions shared hosting. GoDaddy also bundles daily backups, WAF, and CDN into its managed plans, features that require separate purchases at Network Solutions.
Can I transfer my domain away from Network Solutions easily?
Technically, yes. Domain transfers follow the standard ICANN process:
- You unlock the domain in the account manager.
- Request an authorization (EPP) code.
- Initiate the transfer with the receiving registrar.
Network Solutions supports this process.
The practical difficulty some users report is in the support experience around transfers. There have been complaints about domains being locked after cancellation requests, slow responses when requesting transfer authorization codes, and, in some cases, continued auto-renewal charges after a transfer had been initiated.
If you plan to transfer domains away, manage the timeline carefully, ensure auto-renewal is disabled, and save confirmation records of every step. Give yourself more lead time than you think you need before a renewal date, since delays in getting the auth code or resolving account issues can leave you paying another year's renewal at Network Solutions prices.
Is the Network Solutions website builder worth using?
The builder is one of the genuine bright spots in the current Network Solutions product lineup. It uses AI to generate a site layout and initial content based on your business type and answers to a few prompts, with the whole process taking under ten minutes for a basic version of your site.
The drag-and-drop editor allows meaningful customization, and the e-commerce functionality (on higher-tier plans) supports product listings, payments, and integration with external channels like Amazon and Instagram. Where it lags behind dedicated website builder platforms like Squarespace or Wix is in template variety and design flexibility.
For a small local business that needs a functional, presentable website without a developer, it works well. For a business that wants fine-grained control over design or complex functionality, the limitations will show up. Each builder plan comes with one hour of professional design support included, which is a useful safety net for users who get stuck.
