Hosting.com servers and product is superb but the customer service is the worst I have encountered.
I asked for two inactive accounts to be deleted. The agent didn't follow my request and deleted all but one of my accounts. Losing data for a live site that has active users and earns money. Gone.
I requested the data / account be restored. This was done fairly quickly but upon the restoration I was notified I'd be charged £120 from my bank. They had charged me for a year's hosting.
I asked for a refund and it took the best part of a day to get anywhere. I have not had the money back to my bank and am £120 down.
The customer agent then tried to lie and say my hosting had expired, so I had been charged for a year's hosting. My previous orders clearly show I become a customer in mid June, so the agent was just trying to cover up the fact I'd been billed.
Yesterday I got a rather cold email saying I'd had a refund issued and if there was anything else they could help with, let them know.
No apology. No offer of compensation. No recognition of their mistakes.
At the end of the day, they stole £120 from me and I am now waiting to get that back.
